CHAPTER 1: THE MAID'S DAUGHTER WHO CHALLENGED A BILLIONAIRE

The grand ballroom glittered beneath crystal chandeliers.
Every guest wore designer clothing.
Every conversation revolved around money, influence, and power.
At the center of the room sat a gleaming black Steinway piano worth more than most families earned in a lifetime.
The evening was supposed to be perfect.
Then came the sound.
SNIP.
A young woman gasped as long strands of dark hair fell onto the polished marble floor.
The ballroom instantly froze.
Nora's hands shook so badly that the champagne glasses on her serving tray rattled together.
Her daughter, Chloe, stood in the middle of the room.
Humiliated.
Terrified.
While wealthy guests stared.
Vanessa Beaumont folded her arms proudly.
“You don’t get to look like me.”
Laughter rippled through the room.
Some guests looked uncomfortable.
Most stayed silent.
Because Vanessa Beaumont was rich enough to make people ignore cruelty.
Nora rushed forward.
“Chloe, please.”
But Chloe wasn't looking at Vanessa.
She was looking at the stage.
At the piano.
Then she spoke.
“Let me play it.”
The room went silent.
A few seconds later, laughter erupted.
“You?”
“A child?”
“That piano?”
Even Victor Blackwood looked amused.
The billionaire leaned back in his chair.
“Interesting.”
His assistant handed him a sheet of music.
Victor raised it for everyone to see.
“This is an unpublished composition.”
He smiled.
“One hundred million dollars to anyone who can perform it perfectly.”
The room immediately relaxed.
The joke was over.
No child could possibly play it.
But Chloe simply walked toward the piano.
And for the first time all night, Victor Blackwood stopped smiling.
May you like
Because the little girl wasn't nervous.
She looked like she already knew every note on the page.
