The Waitress They Pushed Into the Pool

Part 1: The Fall Into the Pool

The Hayes estate was famous for its parties.

Every summer, politicians, business owners, celebrities, and socialites gathered around the mansion’s enormous pool overlooking the city skyline.

Everything sparkled.

Crystal glasses.

White marble.

Designer gowns.

Perfect smiles.

And among the dozens of guests moving quietly between tables that evening was Emily Parker.

Most people assumed she was just another waitress.

Gray uniform.

Silver serving tray.

Hair tied neatly into a ponytail.

Invisible.

At least to them.

Emily moved carefully along the edge of the pool, carrying champagne glasses for a group of guests.

She never saw Victoria Hayes extend her foot.

The impact came suddenly.

Emily lost her balance.

The tray flew from her hands.

Crystal shattered across the marble deck.

Then she plunged into the pool.

A loud splash echoed through the party.

Conversations stopped.

Heads turned.

Several guests gasped.

For a second, nobody moved.

Then laughter broke the silence.

Victoria crossed her arms.

Rachel stood beside her, smiling.

“Looks like the help finally found her place,” Victoria said.

A few uncomfortable smiles appeared among the crowd.

Others looked away.

Because everyone knew Victoria enjoyed being the center of attention.

Even when it came at someone else’s expense.
